I was just forwarded this message from a Brother in my district. A heads up for Brethren in the Ontario, Canada area:
I am the newly installed Master of Royal Arthur Lodge #523 in Peterborough. Our house was broken into Thursday December 10th, car stolen and among other things, my Masonic regalia was taken from the dining room table. The car has been located and the thief arrested in Waterloo but the Masonic items have not yet been recovered. I wanted to let the Masons in your District know about the loss, in the event the items are turned into a Mason or lodge building. The case was my father’s and is an old style small suitcase from the 1950’s. About the size of a briefcase, black hardboard sides with worn leather trim. Inside was my Master’s apron and collar, my Master Mason’s apron and Royal Arch apron and sash. There was also my Lewis Jewel and Royal Arch Jewel. All can be replaced however my father’s Past Thrice Puissant Grand Master’s Jewel was also in the case along with a gavel presented to me by my wife Mary the night of my Installation. My lodge name badge was in the case as well so that if everything is still together it will be easy to identify.

This afternoon I found some of the stuff in the ditch on Woolwich St. in Waterloo. The name on it is Walter Howell, Lodge 523, Raised: Oct 6/03
